One of the best movies ever made. Mel Gibson directs this story that tells the story of the Scots, and their troubles with the British Dominion. True enough not 100% accurate, this movie is wonderful, and so wonderfully touching. Gibsons speach to the Scottish rebellion set a precendent for every military epic movie to come, Troy, Alexander, 300, and even Elizabeth: The Golden age. Each one those flicks used a shouting, cage rattling message to get the troops "Pumped". Excellent.

how many more wars do we have to go through? Haven't we learned from our past warfare, that nothing will be gained but all will be lost. Women have survived alone everytime there is a war ragged.

over rated and I've since learned perhaps not all that historically accurate, but then I'm prejudiced against Mel Gibson for The Passion, which I've heard described as "a really bad remake of Monty Python's Life of Brian," which I thought was hilarious

Scottish 'hero' with an Ozzie accent? Utter tripe. If it were against anyone else but the English this would never have been made because it would be considered rascist. Boycott it.

Mel Gibson, If I new he was going to turn anti-semetic...... I woul never have wathed it. Ok. Maybe I would have watched after the apology. But you know how "the word does not come back" meaning you can't swalow them...

Mel Gibson may be batshit crazy, but his formula of unbridled anger and speaking pure gibberish actually works out quite well for him in his role of William Wallace.

Filme bom para se divertir nos finais de semana com os amigos. Tá certo q mostra + garra e espírito guerreiro do q algo + sobre as história da Escócia, mas tá valendo

Great film, does anything else really need to be said? The only reason it's not a 5 star is because it is not one of those of movies I would just pop in whenever I had time to spare. That to me is a 5 star movie.

I forgot how long this three hour epic was, explaining the slow pace of the first hour and the dragged out closure of the movie that contained just one battle more than it really needed. Despite being almost entirely historically inaccurate, the film did have an interesting message. No matter how successful you are at uniting your common men to defeat a foreign invader, your country is never free until all men are equal.

We like Mel Gibson. He is a talented man. Very human and not above the gods. The movie was extremely well done. He should do more movies like this one.

This film is in the top ten for me it has love, war, death, tearjerking, and slightly funny moments in it. Mel gibson is absolutley fantastic in it and while the fighting scenes are long the story is soo good

He is right when he said it is better to die fighting for freedom than to live as a coward in bondage, that is bravity

its indeed a braveheart, for someone to choose to die istead of being slave and molested by his fellow. He died even when he had option to live but in bondage but he refused and died for the freedom of his people.
